Acne can be 'created' if you have a allergic-reaction from food. The most common food that can cause acne is:
Milk, chocolate milk (dairy products), pork, caffeine, processed food, candy(my favorite), ice cream, fried food, Chinese fast food etc.
Approximatly three-quarters of 11 to 30 years- old will get acne at some time. Some people can get breakouts only on their faces, backs and/or chest area. And let me just say, I have acne on my face and chest area. 4 YEARS on my face and 2 years on my chest. Acne can let you feel ugly and ashamed of yourself. I try to get rid of it, but i don't know how. I want acne treatments but mine insurance won't let me -.- fml. We try'd to change it. And for all the people out there who have bad acne, hold on their must be a cure. We just haven't find it yet.
Keep checking your skin. Write down how it reacts when you eat maybe pork or candy. If you breakout the next day. Chances are: You are 'allergic' to them and try to eat them less or not if possible.
Visit a dermatologist or your doctor who will sent you trough to a good dermatologist. Research the internet. Check your insurance to see if they reimburse an acne-treatment. Because some treatments do help. They try to figure out what causes the acne from inside. And than they work on the outside. What is the most logic thing to do. Before spending money on that kind of treatments, try to do that on yourself.
Most of the time food is the cause of acne.
Acne treatments:
Benzoyl peroxide
Works in 2 ways:
It prevents dead skin plugging up hair follicles.
It kills the bacteria on the skin for example if your rub your hands against your face.
Because your hand are the main sources of bacteria! Just think. How many times did you typed something on the computer/laptop/ipad/phone and than rubbed or scratched your face!?
Benzoyl is avaible as cream or gel. Side affects of this product are: Dry skin, itching, redness/or peeling
Same goes for these products, same functions and same side affects: Azelaic acid, Topical antibiotics.
If one of them don't helps for you, you can always go to another. And don't just use them without the advice of a dermatologist/doctor.
There are several Antibiotics tablets for acne just look for them.
You also have Hormonal therapies
Co-cyprindiol
which can be used if your body doesn't respond to the antibiotics. Small risk is that woman can develop breast cancer in a later life. Side affects can be bleeding and spotting between your periods, which can sometimes occur for the first few months, headaches, sore breasts, mood changes, loss of interest in sex, weight gain or weight loss. (lol, sounds like PMS to me)
Isotretinoin
helps reduce the production of sebum, It helps prevent follicles from becoming clogged. It decreases the amount of bacteria on the skin. It reduces redness and swelling in and around spots.
Side affects are inflammation, dryness and cracking of the skin, lips and nostrils, changes in your blood sugar levels, inflammation of your eyelids, inflammation and irritation of your eyes, blood in your urine
(WTF!? O.O)
Rarer side effects of isotretinoin are inflammation of the liver inflammation of the pancreas and kidney disease.
There are still a few hormonal therapies i didn't mention. Just look them up.
